Editor’s Picks is the first in a new series featuring photographs posted on the site in the past month. This inaugural gallery has been selected by Collier AutoMedia.com’s creative director, Ole Lund.

A bit about Ole: a native of Denmark, he studied design at the Royal Academy of Art in Copenhagen and the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and received his graduate degree from the Royal College of Art in London. His bracing, creative approach is responsible for much of the exciting design on this site. We hope you enjoy his photo picks and his explanations for selecting them.

Monaco Historic Grand Prix

I have been watching the Monaco Race for my entire life. The circuit, which has remained nearly identical since 1950, is 3,340 km long. It’s not just the unusual, serpentine street circuit with its tight bends and iconic tunnel that makes Monaco so different, but the truly opulent surroundings of Monte Carlo. The historic Grand Prix is an amazing appetizer for the annual Formula 1 race that takes place two weeks later. Photo: Wouter Melissen
