Wednesday drag nights in Sonoma are an exciting community event that brings together all generations around cars. Everyone is welcome here, whether you are racing a sports car or an SUV, or if you’re just there to watch. These drag nights are about more than just the look of a car. They are about providing a safe and controlled environment where drivers can experience the thrill of racing, away from public roads.

Sonoma drag nights bring out some of the best in people and cars. When you’re here, you notice what seems to be a rivalry between American muscle cars, European imports, and JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) models. Cars range from modern to classic, from standard-looking vehicles to heavily customized works of art.

Yet all of the drivers are brought together by the same love and satisfaction they get from working on their machines. They are all driven by the sense of accomplishment that comes from working through the sweat, car oil, and tears to get the job done right. Whether it is a tune up or a full rebuild, once that difficult project is completed, Sonoma drag nights are there for you to show your hard-earned masterpiece.

Then, of course there is the racing. Anyone with a valid driver’s license can compete, providing their car or motorcycle passes a simple technical inspection. Sonoma Speedway also includes special competitions like “Top the Cops™” where teens get the chance to race against uniformed police officers on the quarter mile drag strip in a program designed to reduce illegal street racing. Whether it is through racing or showing off custom projects, Sonoma Wednesday Night Drags are a great place for young and old to come together over a love of cars and a need for speed.
